be there at Broadcast Asia 2004 |
MediaCorp
Radio will be participating in Broadcast
Asia 2004 which will be held at the Singapore Expo from 15-18
June. On display at our exhibition stand, visitors will be able
to see a demonstration on Project Socrates - an integration of GPRS
with DAB technology for education application. There will also be
a 15 minutes presentation on "Digital Radio - Beyond Radio in
DAB" on 15 & 17 June at 2.30 pm. We will also be around
to help answer any queries on DAB in Singapore and our Digital Radio
service. We will be located together with MediaCorp Technologies
under the Singapore Pavilion at Hall 2, Booth 2C1-8. See you there!
The
Asia DAB Committee of the World
DAB Forum will be presenting a DAB conference as part of the
Broadcast Asia 2004 International Conference. It will highlight
developments in the world of DAB through the experiences and success
stories of leading DAB players in Asia and Europe.
This half-day DAB conference will be held on Thursday, 17 June 2004
at 9am at the Singapore Expo. Mr. Asaad Bagharib, Senior Director
(Technology Services) of MediaCorp Radio Singapore, will be presenting
a paper entitled, Digital Radio - It's Never "Business As Usual"
which highlight some of the interesting DAB business development
from MediaCorp Radio.

Mr.
Taxi-Smart
PGK Media
Pte Ltd will be showing Mr. Taxi-Smart - an interactive
point-of-information and advertisement system specifically designed
for taxi based on DAB technology. A development project funded
by the Media Development Authority (MDA) of Singapore, Mr. Taxi-Smart
comes in the form of an LCD screen with an integrated DAB module.
To be mounted within the cabin of a taxi, passengers get to
choose their favourite Digital Radio station besides other on-demand
data services ranging from traffic, sports & financial news,
tourism to shopping.
Visitors will get to see Mr. Taxi-Smart during Broadcast Asia
2004 at the Singapore Expo, Hall 2, Booth 2C1-10. For

Software
DAB Data Decoder from Ngee Ann Polytechnic
The DSP Technology Centre of Ngee Ann Polytechnic in Singapore
has developed two DAB decoding software for stream mode DLS
(Dynamic Label Segment) and MOT (Multimedia Object Transfer)
data services. The software is written in JAVA and can be easily
adapted for any commercial DAB receiver module available in
the market. It supports real-time data service streams from
DAB modules and offline decoding of data services from files.
